Over the next 10 days (well there are 6 left), I’ll be sharing some ideas with you on ’10 Ways to Make a Difference’.
Each Day, one idea.
THREE: Host something
FOUR: Fix something
The story of our involvement with Elukholweni Farm School started with fixing some stuff.
The school is the venue where we vote, every time there is an election.
My friend Wouter, who is a partner at CHCSA, a construction company, saw the decay at the school & got us all involved.
If you own a house, or have kids at school, you know nothing is ever done.
Not when it comes to buildings.
There is always a room to paint, a gutter to fix, a sports-field to create.
So there is more than enough opportunity to doing something fabulous.
Friends of mine created a movement they call Hands-On.
Every weekend they go somewhere else, to a school or charity or Church & they fix stuff.
I like that.
It is pro-active.
And – I think in the fixing of something there will be more than just something getting fixed.
Maybe there will be someone feeling valued.
Someone seeing that love is more than just empty words.
Why not get a group together & come fix something at Elukholweni Farm School.
Wouter & a crowd of people has done amazing big stuff, but fixing doesn’t have to be replacing a roof, it can be simple & cheap.
And it will show love.
