Thoughts about ‘礼品之路’ or ‘The Way of the Gift’ have been & are brewing in my being, as we (my family & I) settle, for a while unknown, into life in Jiamusi, in the North of China.
The move. The new environment. The experience.
And perhaps my reading as I study ‘happiness’, all contribute to these thoughts.
I notice, wherever I go, birds fly, dogs bark & people desire happiness.
礼品之路 is all about happiness.
I‘m coming to believe it is the Way to happiness.
I’ve shared a few posts about this.
The 1st post was simply titled: 礼品之路
The second post was titled: 礼品之路 – The Gift of Enough.
The third post elaborated on ‘enough’, simply saying: 礼品之路 – More about ‘the Gift of Enough’.
Then we took a step backwards, to consider ‘being & becoming’: 礼品之路 – ‘The Gift of Being & Becoming’.
In that post my thoughts went more to ‘the gift of being’. An immense gift which speaks to our value. Our collective value. And our preciousness as exquisite individuals.
Then I shared some ideas, more specifically about ‘the Gift of Becoming’, with a post called: 礼品之路 – The Gift of Becoming.
The most recent post was about ‘being known’. How there is immense happiness when we are known. Immense absence of happiness when we’re not.
The post was called: 礼品之路 – The Gift of Being Known.
Today I want to share some thoughts about ‘The Gift of Truth’.
It relates to ‘being known’.
It relates to ‘relationship’.
‘礼品之路’ or ‘The Way of the Gift’ is an ancient way.
One seemingly forgotten.
Along this Way, the Gift of Truth is given to us as well.
Truth about life.
Truth about us.
Truth about time, folding in on itself, redeeming us from chronology.
Science makes us believe Truth is only that which can be seen. Smelled. Observed. Measured.
Religion makes us believe it is owned by an organisation.
To be purvyed.
In exchange for compliance.
To be defended.
Unto judgement of many.
In order to exclude.
Along ‘礼品之路’ or ‘The Way of the Gift’, Truth is not ‘something’.
To be owned.
Truth is Someone.
And (s)He includes.
In an ancient book of wisdom it is said: The Truth sets free.
That (s)He does.
It is also said, in ancient times: we receive the Spirit of Truth.
As a gift.
Perhaps this is the deepest, most meaningful discovery, for me, in recent days: that it is a Gift, from the Gift.
Not to be obtained, but to be embraced.
To see life, not in black & white or even various shades of gray, but in Truth.
Not the truth of religion or science, which condemns & divides.
Never to be owned.
Always to be enjoyed.
Always unto love, happiness & peace.
As (s)He becomes the Gift.
This Truth brings sight to our soul.
Enabling us to see.
That we are exquisite.
That we are connected.
That we are included.
Enabling us to sense.
That we are not the sum of our actions or the result of our parent’s DNA or the senseless consequence of some cosmic accident.
To sense, without any doubt, that we are not the picture painted by countless negative words sown in our being, by parents & siblings & teachers & friends.
We are not the ugly reflection created by our own destructive whisper.
We are beautiful.
In no need to prove ourselves, having been already proven.
By (s)He who has nothing to prove.
Who brought into existence, this magnificent entirety, with creative words.
Who formed us & forms us, with tender fingers, every day & ages ago, from this magnificence, to be even more magnificent.
Who knows us.
And loves us.
And exists with the single minded desire to know us & enjoy us.
To be known by us & enjoyed by us.
From eternity to eternity.
Different from the truth of church & science.
Of statistics & social engineering.
Rediscovered along ‘礼品之路’.
The knowing that I cannot.
Unless I am infused with that Original Spirit whose breath brought life & brings it still.
The knowing that I can, more than ever imagined, as I am infused.
This Truth cannot be listed.
(s)He cannot be written down.
Described in the few pages of a book.
Except for a glimpse.
This Truth cannot be managed or dispensed.
(s)He needs it not.
For (s)He gives freely.
To you & me.
And so, all we can do, is open our being, even this opening a gift in itself.
And with happiness receive the Gift of Truth.
In our Origin’s knowing.
Allowing our Origin to fill us without measure.
Bringing sight to us.
Perhaps you desire to live life well.
Perhaps you aspire to find happiness.
This I hope for you, that this Gift will be yours.
For it is in becoming mine, that I’ve found & find & will find happiness.
It is in becoming mine, that I’ve lost & lose & will lose fear.
It is in becoming mine, every day a little more, that I am brought to life, as I’ve not lived before.
May it be yours.
I ask this, desire this, as I write & you read, in seperate moments, mingled into eternity.
